Parley

Free MIT-licensed AI agent and SaaS template for Astro 7 and Next.js 16 with 22 pages and a Markdown blog.

About this template

Parley is a free, MIT-licensed website template for AI agents and SaaS products, built with Astro 7 and a Next.js 16 port, shipping 22 pages including a landing page, pricing, workflows, and a ten-post blog.

What is Parley?

Parley is a static-site template for AI startups and SaaS founders who want a warm, editorial layout instead of the usual dark neon AI aesthetic. It takes your content — edited in src/content/content.json for repeated blocks and Markdown files for blog posts — and produces a fully static site via Astro's output: 'static' mode, with no CSS framework or UI framework. A parallel Next.js version lives in next/. It is made by Startfrom.

Key Features

  • Astro 7 with static output — npm run build writes static files to dist/; no CSS or UI framework dependencies are used.
  • Next.js 16 port — the same site in the App Router with React 19 and static export, generated from the Astro source by tools/astro-to-next.mjs, with a comparison script that checks both builds at desktop, tablet and phone widths.
  • 22 routes — landing page (hero, logo strip, benefit cards, delegation tabs, testimonials, pricing, how-it-works, FAQ, integrations), /workflows plus three generated workflow pages, pricing with a feature comparison table, contact, blog index and ten Markdown articles, terms, waitlist, thank-you and 404.
  • Markdown blog with content collections — typed frontmatter loaded through Astro's glob() collection; index cards, related posts and the sitemap all read the same files.
  • Optional Sveltia CMS admin — a single static page at /admin/ with no build integration; delete public/admin/ if unused.
  • JSON form endpoint — contact and waitlist forms post JSON to PUBLIC_FORM_ENDPOINT; if unset, submissions stay in the browser.
  • Opt-in Vercel analytics — @vercel/analytics and @vercel/speed-insights mount only when PUBLIC_VERCEL_ANALYTICS is set.
  • Design tokens and spring easings — twelve colour tokens, a sixteen-step type scale in tokens.css, breakpoints at 1200 and 810, and five Framer spring transitions emitted as CSS linear() easings.

Who is it for?

  • AI startup founders — launch a marketing site with pricing, FAQ and testimonials without building layout from scratch.
  • SaaS teams — use the billing toggle and feature comparison table to present plans, and the contact form to capture leads.
  • Content-led marketers — publish articles as Markdown files that automatically update index cards, related-post strips and the sitemap.
  • Template buyers on Vercel — deploy with the Vercel button, which clones the repo and uses the Astro preset with no required environment variables.

What can you do with Parley?

  • Launch a product site fast: deploy the Astro build to Vercel with the one-click button, then swap the artwork and logos (shipped under the same MIT licence) for your own.
  • Run a blog: add a Markdown file per article in src/content/blog/; filenames are kept verbatim as ids, so slugs with dots survive intact.
  • Edit content in a browser: configure public/admin/config.yml with your repo and a GitHub OAuth app to use Sveltia CMS for production editing.
  • Accessibility testing: every effect degrades under prefers-reduced-motion: reduce — motion is withdrawn and the layout stays intact.

Pricing

Free, MIT licensed. Artwork and logos ship under the same licence.
