A free, open-source Hugo template for link-in-bio pages with unlimited links, custom domains, and Markdown ownership.
HugoBlox Link-in-Bio is a free, open-source Hugo template for creating a link-in-bio page with unlimited links, custom domains, and Markdown ownership, serving as a zero-cost alternative to Linktree and similar paid services.
HugoBlox Link-in-Bio is a link-in-bio template built on the HugoBlox framework for Hugo, the static site generator. It takes Markdown content and configuration files as input and produces a fast, static HTML page that aggregates links, social icons, an avatar, and a bio. The template is maintained by Lore Labs and is part of the HugoBlox ecosystem, which powers 150,000+ sites. It is distributed under the MIT license.
The tech stack is Hugo (requires Hugo Extended for the CLI install method), Markdown for content, and static HTML output. The template includes a single link-in-bio page layout with avatar, bio, links, and social icon sections, plus theming and SEO metadata.
Getting started takes two steps. First, deploy the site either by launching it in your browser (no software to install) or by running the CLI command npx hugoblox create site --template link-in-bio, which requires Hugo Extended and Node.js. Second, customize the page with Hugo Chat (AI generates structured Markdown with correct front matter), with the Ownable CMS visual editor in VS Code, or by editing the Markdown files directly. Hugo then builds the Markdown into static HTML for hosting.
Free. The template is MIT-licensed and part of the open-source HugoBlox ecosystem. Hosting offers free tiers on GitHub Pages, Netlify, Vercel, and Cloudflare Pages. Hugo Chat is free to try, and no paid tier is required for unlimited links, custom branding, or analytics.
No. You can edit the page visually with Ownable CMS in VS Code or write Markdown directly. Hugo is only the build engine that converts your Markdown into static HTML; you don't need to touch Hugo configuration unless you want to.
HugoBlox Link-in-Bio is free, open source, and self-hosted. You own the page and its content as Markdown, can use your own custom domain, and you are never locked into a paid subscription or feature gate for more links or analytics.
Yes. You can point any custom domain to your free hosting provider (GitHub Pages, Netlify, Vercel, or Cloudflare Pages) without a paid upgrade. This is a built-in capability of static hosting, not a feature gate.
Yes. All four recommended providers — GitHub Pages, Netlify, Vercel, and Cloudflare Pages — offer free tiers for static sites. The template produces static HTML, so it works with any of them.
Hugo Chat is an AI assistant trained on Hugo and HugoBlox documentation. You describe what you want in plain English, and it generates the correct Markdown pages, front matter, shortcodes, and blocks for this template. It is free to try.
