Free open-source WordPress page builder with 19 blocks, 542 patterns, 14,417 icons, and 100 style cards.
MaxiBlocks is a free, open-source page builder plugin for WordPress that extends the Gutenberg editor with 19 blocks and a design library of 542 patterns, 14,417 icons, and 100 style cards. Everything runs on WordPress, requires no separate account, and places no limit on the number of sites you build. It was created by co-founders Kyra and Christiaan and is licensed under GPLv3.
MaxiBlocks is a WordPress plugin and companion theme (MaxiBlocks Go) that turns the native block editor into a full page builder. You install it from the WordPress repository, open any page, click the MaxiBlocks icon in the toolbar, and then browse patterns, starter sites, or style cards. It outputs complete websites built from Gutenberg blocks, including pages like homepage, about, services, contact, blog, archives, and 404. The plugin is open source under GPLv3 and does not replace Gutenberg; it adds styling controls, responsive breakpoints, and design tools on top of it.
MaxiBlocks is aimed at WordPress site creators who want the speed of a page builder without locking their work into a proprietary system. Freelancers and agencies can use starter sites and style cards to deliver client sites faster. Developers who prefer Gutenberg-native content can extend the block-based workflow instead of fighting it. Site owners switching from commercial builders get a free alternative they can fully customize and reuse across unlimited projects.
From the WordPress admin, install the MaxiBlocks plugin and the MaxiBlocks Go theme. Then open any page in the editor, click the MaxiBlocks icon in the toolbar, and choose a pattern or starter site. Pick a style card to set your look, and the plugin generates the block content on the page. No account is required, and you can build on any WordPress theme, though the full experience uses MaxiBlocks Go or any Full Site Editing theme.
MaxiBlocks is free and open source. The core plugin, all 19 blocks, 100 style cards, patterns, and icons are free with unlimited site usage. An optional paid Cloud Library adds 2,180+ additional patterns, 231 page templates, and priority support; sites you build remain functional even if you cancel.
